About Municipality
Malkangiri Municipality has been constituted vide notification no-27368 / Spl . Con- 31.74-UD Dated 04-11-1974 and started functioning with effect from 01-12-1974. The NAC comprises of three revenue villages Viz Malkanagire,Charkiguda and Gandiaguda. 3 more revenue villages Viz Madhapur(mv-2), Basantapur(mv-43) and Jaynagar(mv-42) which where within the limits of the southern boundary of Malkangiri RF, treated as hamlet villages and which were converted as revenue villages after the notification constituting Malkangiri NAC were treated to have been included in NAC Malkangiri. The NAC has an area of 18.60 Sq Kim’s. The populations of the NAC as per 2001 census is 23110 and out of which 11966 are male and 11844 are female. The SC population of the NAC is 5622 and the STs number to 4006. The boundary of this NAC is as follows:- North :- Gohi Parbat South :- Boundary of Malkangiri R.F, Goudaguda and Goreguda villages. East :- Boundary of Champakhari I,e, road junction leading to Satiguda dam site. West :- Boundary of Gondhipali and Siadimal villages
